Bill O’Reilly gets his ass kicked by Phil Donahue!! (via lanedek)
This clip makes me wish I watched more of Phil Donahue when he was still on the air. He is exactly right when he says O’Reilly is “part of a loud group of people who want to prove they’re tough.”
If someone wants to prove they’re tough, they should spar off in a boxing ring, or take up extreme sports. What they shouldn’t do is support a war initiated on false evidence and lies, and they shouldn’t send other people’s children off to die in the name of their so-called glory.
McCain thinks Putin is the President of Germany? : reddit.com
Seriously. Can this man be that ignorant of the rest of the world and still have this good of a shot at winning the presidential election? I’m sure plenty of people might try to cover his mistake by saying everyone has a slip of the tongue once in a while. But he makes a pretty steady habit of it, if that’s the case.
NAFTA Super Highway project, which has apparently been denied to exist is covered in great detail by a Representative of the House live on C-SPAN. Freaky.

chop51 wrote: Good idea. Here’s my quick “back of the envelope”: 10% of NM is ~7.5 mil. acres. times 43560 ft.^2/acre = ~32.5 x 10^9 I’ll low ball the cost per ft.^2 to build these hi tech greenhouses and say $100/per. Probably considerably more, but at this scale it should be under 1,000/per, so at least we’ll get an idea of what order of magnitude we’re looking at. So that’s another 2 zeros tacked on and we get ~3.25 trillion minimum.
Jon Stewart four years ago, and now Frank Zappa twenty-one years ago. Pretty interesting stuff.
