The challenge for this project was being assigned a typeface at random. Once provided with your given assignment, you needed to research into the type about who, when, and where it was produced. You also needed to research how it was used in publications and base your project on the type of uses it had.

I discovered that Trade Gothic had been used heavily in the music industry, especially when it came to jazz music. So I ran with this idea of creating a jazz album jacket for a fictional musical group, The Trade Gothics. All of the text rifts on this fictional jazz group, making musical as well as typographical word play throughout.
